The OTL Team

The Office of Teaching and Learning specializes in LMS administration, training, and designing curriculum using digital tools. The members of the team are listed below

Picture of Danny Young

Danny has been working as an instructional designer since 2009 beginning at BYU. He worked with UVU’s Global Aviation Program from 2010 to 2016 and, later on, developed training programs for the FAA. While most of his time is currently spent finishing a PhD in Instructional Psychology and Technology at BYU, his wife hopes that someday he’ll finish his homework and do more work around the house. He likes to play volleyball, go on family trips, or just relax with a good book.

Picture of Johnny Vargas

Johnny has been working in the tech field for three years now. He came to work for Mtech when he was a freshman in college; he is now studying computer science at UVU. He loves anything technology-related, solving technical problems, coding new software, and repairing computer hardware. He also enjoys weight lifting, working out at the gym, and anything sports and fitness-related. He was recently married and lives with his wife who is a third grade teacher.

Alan has been working in education for eight years. He has worked as a regression lead for developing a LMS, teacher, curriculum designer, Mobile Development Coordinator, and now as the OTL Director. He graduated from BYU and from the University of Utah with his M.Ed. Alan started at Mtech in 2017 when he started the Mobile Development Program. He loves to sit down with a book, watch a football game, or really anything as long as he has a Pepsi in his hand.

Autumn has had the opportunity to work in education all over the globe for the past eight years. She started her teaching journey in the Southeast of Turkey, and then later served in the U.S. Peace Corps Response in Rwanda. In recent years she’s worked as an instructional designer at a local dealership. Autumn holds an M.Ed. from the University of Utah. When she’s not attending to her Mtech duties, you’ll find her hanging out with her horse.
